They can be from your friends, family, from your neighborhood, church or school community, work place, and/or clubs you belong to. (Great way to build relationships)
- Don’t overwhelm yourself with a large group (we suggest 4-5 people per group)
- Choose Families with similar number of people, food restrictions and eating preferences
Pick a constant date and place swap meals.
-
(For example the first Friday of every month at 5:00
pm at Amanda’s House) By setting the date everyone can plan on it and even
prepare in advance if they have the chance. We do the same house each month,
but you could rotate.
- The meal must be a complete main dish. - Meaning if you can eat that dish without preparing anything else (sides, rice or noodles) and pretty much call it a dinner then it is a complete main dish.
- Meals should feed a normal family of 4-5 *
- Meals should cost approx. $10 per meal (normal cost, so if you did not buy it on sale what would it cost)
* based on a freezer club of 4 people, adjust where
needed
Prepare your Meals-
Pick your meal, If you are new to freezer meals check out the resource links or search on Pintrest (searching for meals that “freeze well” will help you out)
- Meals can be for the Crock Pot, Stove Top and Oven
- Prepare your # of Freezer Meals each month (Same meal just made multiple times)
- Freeze Flat in a ZipLock Bag or in a Disposable Pan.
- Label meals with Date you made it, Name of dish and instruction
- (Example:
1/20/13 Lasagna: Cook at 350 for 60 minutes)
-
Bring meals(frozen flat) and copies of the Recipe to your Exchange
- Bring Dessert on your designated month (we rotate each month someone new had the dessert, this gives us a snack while we chat)
